Transparent silicone sealant (often referred to as transparent glass adhesive) is a single component room temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone elastomer that is cured by absorbing moisture from the air, forming a highly transparent/semi transparent, flexible and weather resistant sealing layer that balances adhesion and waterproofing. It is particularly suitable for high aesthetic requirements.

Transparent and beautiful: After curing, it almost does not cover the substrate, suitable for transparent/light colored parts such as glass, crystal, acrylic, etc; High quality products are resistant to yellowing and UV rays, and are not prone to fogging outdoors for a long time.
Neutral curing: mostly ketoxime type, non acidic corrosion, safe for metals, coated glass, and stone, suitable for home decoration and precision scenes; Although acidic adhesive cures quickly, it is corrosive and has a strong odor. Transparent products rarely use acidic adhesive.
Weather resistance and temperature resistance: it can withstand the temperature difference between -40 ℃ and 150 ℃, resist ozone and aging, and has stable performance in long-term exposure to wind and rain; Strong waterproof performance, can be used for kitchen, bathroom, outdoor doors and windows.
Elasticity and displacement: After curing, it has a good expansion and contraction rate (commonly ± 20%), can absorb the thermal expansion and contraction of the substrate and slight vibration, and is not easy to crack.

Typical products and construction points
Common brands include DOWSIL 732, Baiyun SS801, and Wacker OS transparent adhesive; The packaging is mostly made of 300ml soft tubes and requires the use of a glue gun for construction.
The substrate must be thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free of oil and dust (wipe with isopropanol if necessary);
The optimal construction temperature is 5-40 ℃ and humidity is 40-70%; Dry for 20-30 minutes and fully cure for about 7 days;
The gap should be left at 3-5mm to avoid excessive thickness of the adhesive layer; Can stick decorative paper to control the lines, and use a scraper to trim the edges before curing;
Avoid contact with skin and eyes before curing, and maintain ventilation; Completely cured, non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
Purchasing and Avoiding Pitfalls
Distinguish between weather resistant adhesive (for outdoor use, displacement resistant), anti mold adhesive (for kitchen and bathroom use, grade 0 anti mold), and structural adhesive (for load-bearing bonding, transparent styles are rare);
Be wary of low-priced and low-quality adhesives: prone to yellowing, cracking, weak adhesion, and even release harmful volatile substances;
Check the execution standards, curing type, displacement level, and warranty period on the packaging.
