Strong adhesion of neutral silicone sealant

Strong adhesion of neutral silicone sealant Choose structural grade (high modulus) neutral adhesive, perform surface treatment, apply adhesive and cure according to specifications; Ordinary kitchen and bathroom weather resistant adhesive has insufficient strength and cannot be used for stress bonding.
Key parameters for strong adhesion (must see when choosing)
Curing type: Neutral curing (non corrosive to metal/coating/stone, preferred for strong bonding).
Modulus/strength: structural adhesive (high modulus, ≥ 0.6MPa); Weather resistant adhesive (medium low modulus, 0.2~0.4MPa, unable to bond under stress).
Surface drying/curing: Surface drying for 20-60min (23 ℃); Fully cured for 24 hours (initial curing)/7 days (full strength).
Applicable substrates: glass, anodized aluminum, stainless steel, ceramic tiles, marble, concrete, wood, and some plastics (PP/PE requires primer coating).
Temperature resistance/weather resistance: -50 ℃~150 ℃, UV/ozone/water resistance, outdoor durability of over 20 years.
Construction steps (determining bonding strength, indispensable)
Surface treatment (most critical)
Thoroughly clean: oil-free, waterless, dust-free, rust free, wipe with isopropanol/anhydrous ethanol, dry for 10-15 minutes.
Roughening: Smooth the surface (glass/metal) with light sandpaper to increase adhesion.
Primer (difficult to stick substrate): fluorocarbon paint, galvanized sheet, certain plastics, use matching primer (such as Primer-C).
sizing
Temperature 5~45 ℃, humidity 40%~70%; Avoid rainy days/condensation.
The adhesive layer has a thickness of 2-5mm and a width of ≥ 10mm; it is continuous and full, without any bubbles.
Curing (increasing strength)
Surface drying: 20-30 minutes (23 ℃), touchable and non stick to hands.
Initial solidification: 24 hours, up to 50% strength, light stress.
Full strength: 7d (23 ℃/50% RH), 100% strength, can be used normally.
Common Misconceptions (Reasons for Strong Adhesive Failure)
❌ Using ordinary weather resistant adhesive (such as 9900) for stress bonding → insufficient strength, easy to peel off.
❌ Surface not clean/with water/oil → bonding failure, 100% detachment.
❌ The adhesive layer is too thin/narrow → stress concentration, cracking and delamination.
❌ Under stress before fully curing → insufficient strength, prone to damage.
Recommended scenarios and models
Curtain Wall/Sunroom (Glass Aluminum): Dow Corning 995/Zhijiang JS-6000.
Ceramic tiles/marble falling off (wall/floor): Baiyun SS628/Jitai S969.
Metal metal (stainless steel/aluminum): Taoxi 993N (two-component).
Kitchen and bathroom waterproofing+mild bonding: neutral weather resistant adhesive (such as Sika 190), cannot withstand force.
