Pipeline polyurethane sealant (PU pipeline sealant)
Developed specifically for water supply and drainage, municipal underground, industrial pipeline interfaces, pipe galleries, and culvert segments, this elastic waterproof sealing material complies with the national standard JC/T 482-2022 “Polyurethane Building Sealant” and is divided into two categories: single component (moisture curing) and two-component (AB material reaction curing).

1、 Two types of differentiation (how to choose pipeline scenes)
- Single component polyurethane sealant (mainstream for construction site pipelines)
Form: 600ml soft sausage/310ml hard sausage, ready to use upon opening, no need for mixing ratio
Curing: absorbing moisture from the air and solidifying from the surface to the inside; Dry for 40-120 minutes, fully cured for 7 days
Advantages: Simple construction, no sagging of vertical pipe joints (non sagging type), preferred for repairing small-diameter pipelines
Applicable: PVC/PE plastic pipes, steel pipe joints, community water supply and drainage, repair and leak repair, sporadic pipe interfaces - Two component polyurethane sealant (for large municipal pipelines, culverts, and large joints)
Mix ratio: A main agent (light yellow paste): B curing agent (black paste)=about 10:1, mix evenly with electric stirring before use
There are two types:
Non sagging type: riser, pipe outer wall circumferential seam;
Self leveling type: bottom of underground pipe gallery, horizontal wide settlement joint
Advantages: controllable curing speed, dense adhesive layer, stronger water pressure resistance, suitable for large-sized pipeline expansion joints
Applicable: Municipal sewage/rainwater concrete pipelines, top pipes, tunnel segments, large-diameter steel-concrete pipelines
2、 Core Performance (Pipeline Sealing Needs Advantage)
High elasticity and deformation resistance
Elongation rate of 300% -1000%, displacement capacity of ± 25%~± 50%, pipeline thermal expansion and contraction, foundation settlement, and vibration will not crack or leak, and the elastic recovery rate is over 90%.
Universal adhesive pipeline substrate
Firmly adhere to concrete, cast iron, steel pipes, PVC/HDPE plastics, fiberglass, stone, and most substrates do not require a primer.
Water resistant, corrosion-resistant, high and low temperature resistant
The working temperature range is -40 ℃ to+80 ℃, and it is resistant to freezing and thawing; Resistant to weak acid and alkali in sewage, soil corrosion, and underground moisture; Tear resistant, wear-resistant, and puncture resistant, with a lifespan of 15-20 years for underground buried pipes.
Environmentally friendly and non corrosive
Neutral formula, non corrosive to metal pipes, non polluting to drinking water (special for drinking water pipes in accordance with GB5749 standard for domestic water), can be painted and repaired after curing.
Double water stop (water swelling type)
Special pipeline water stop type slightly expands when encountering water, seals small gaps, has a water pressure resistance of ≥ 1.5MPa, and is suitable for underground high water level pipelines.

4、 Shortcomings and usage taboos
Long term immersion in strong alkaline environments leads to performance degradation, and polysulfide sealant is preferred for strong alkaline sewage pipelines;
Light colored PU is prone to yellowing due to long-term outdoor exposure, and has no impact on buried pipelines;
Single component low temperature (<5 ℃) curing is extremely slow, and it is recommended to use two components for winter construction; Not suitable for steam pipelines with sustained high temperatures>90 ℃.
5、 Standard construction steps (universal for pipeline interfaces)
Base cleaning
Thoroughly remove oil stains, sediment, and accumulated water from the gaps of pipeline interfaces, and keep them dry; Wet base surface needs to be dried or coated with primer.
Fill the backing strip
When the gap depth is greater than 10mm, insert polyethylene foam round strip, control the glue thickness of 6 – 12mm, and avoid three side bonding (which will crack the gel).
Glue application
Single component: Apply glue directly with a glue gun, filling the interface gaps fully;
Two component: Stir in proportion for 3-5 minutes until no color appears, and use up within 15 minutes (quick initial setting).
Plastic surgery and maintenance
Smooth the adhesive seam with a scraper and apply decorative paper to ensure a beautiful appearance; Avoid soaking in water before surface drying, and cover with water after 7 days of complete solidification.
